Edmonton police investigate human remains discovered in west-end alley

The Edmonton police homicide unit is investigating after human remains were discovered in a west end alley, Thursday morning.

Police said in a news release citizens walking in an alley west of 149 Street between 92 and 93 Avenue found the remains.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Friday, the results of which are not being released at this time.

Homicide detectives are circulating a poster to residents in the area. They would like to speak with anyone who may have been travelling through that alley on Aug. 14-15 and may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour of individuals and/or unfamiliar vehicles in that area.

Police are also looking for surveillance or dash cam video of the alley that may help their investigation.
