
City’s 31st homicide of 2019
The Winnipeg police homicide unit has arrested two teenage boys after a man was found injured and lying on Main Street.
The boys aged 13 and 14, are each charged with one count of manslaughter. They have been detained in custody.
On Tuesday at approximately 12:00 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of a man lying on the roadway on Main Street between Higgins Avenue and Sutherland Avenue.

Transit drivers assisted by stopping buses and blocked one lane of traffic until police arrived.
An unresponsive man was found suffering from injuries. Patrol officers preformed CPR until the arrival of paramedics.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries.
He has been identified as Neilson Catcheway, 40, of Winnipeg.
Police determined that Catcheway had been assaulted and a short time later he was struck by an unrelated northbound vehicle.

Investigators are asking for the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
