Saskatoon Police charge man with first-degree murder after shooting death

Police in Saskatoon have laid charges in connection to the shooting death of a man in August.

According to a news release, on August 18, 2019, police responded to the 1800 block of 20th Street West for reports of an injured man.

Upon arrival they found the victim, identified as Andrew Merasty, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Craig Don Gladue, 20, is charged with first-degree murder, using a firearm in commission of offence, unauthorized possession of firearm and discharging firearm – recklessness.

He made a brief court appearance Friday and is scheduled to return to Saskatoon provincial court next week.
