Winnipeg police charge man with second-degree murder after fatal stabbing in Elmwood

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a man following a fatal stabbing that happened in the Elmwood area in October.

On October 23, at approximately 1:35 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of Talbot Avenue for a report of a man who had been stabbed.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

He was identified as Darcy Lesley Rose, 37, of Winnipeg.


Members of the Homicide Unit continued to investigate.

On Tuesday, a male suspect was placed under arrest at the Stony Mountain Institution where he was in custody for a separate matter.

Investigators believe that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.

Michael Joseph Thomas Fox, 30, of Winnipeg, has been charged with second-degree murder.

He was detained in custody.
