Winnipeg police are investigating after a man was shot and injured at a Subway restaurant in Osborne Village early Sunday.

Police responded to the Subway at River Avenue and Osborne Street for the report a man had been shot at around 2:05 a.m..

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 20-year-old man.

He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

A Subway employee was also struck during the shooting but was not injured.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
