RCMP are investigating after an inmate was stabbed inside a cell at the Stony Mountain Institution.
On Monday, at 8:00 p.m., Stonewall RCMP received a report that a 29-year-old male inmate had been stabbed.
Officers were advised that the victim was seen entering another inmate’s cell and later emerged injured.
The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries where he remains in stable condition.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Officers from the Stonewall Detachment, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, continue to investigate.
