Winnipeg police investigate assault in South Point Douglas

Winnipeg police are investigating an assault that took place outside of the Main Street Project building on Wednesday night.

Police say at around 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of the Disraeli Freeway for a report of an assault.

A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital in critical but stable condition.

Officers remained at the scene overnight.

Police did not provide information on any possible suspects.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
