The homicide unit is investigating the death of an indigenous woman who went missing earlier this month.

Winnipeg police previously reported on a missing person investigation concerning Danielle Diane Harper, 35, who was last seen in the 800 block of Main Street on July 12.

Harper was located deceased at a residence in the 700 block of Manitoba Avenue on July 23, and her death is considered suspicious in nature.

Police are attempting to establish Harper’s whereabouts in the days preceding her death and are looking to speak with anyone who may have had contact with her during the weekend of July 11 and beyond.

Harper had a cast on her right leg and was using crutches when last seen, according to a media release.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
