Toronto man dies after being shot in Winnipeg’s North End

Winnipeg police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the city’s North End, last week.

According to a media release, on August 26, at 8:45 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue for a report of shots that had just been fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers found a man with gunshot injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries on August 28.

Police identified the victim as Mohammed Yonis Ali, 21-years-old, from Toronto, Ontario.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.
