A school bus carrying children crashed into a wooden hydro pole at the corner of Logan Avenue and Stanley Street on Friday afternoon. Winnipeg police said the children were safely removed from the bus. They were taken to a nearby Salvation Army where they were assessed by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m.. No injuries were reported and no one was taken to hospital. The driver and 31 school children were on the bus at the time of the collision, officials said.
Police and Cadets closed Logan from Isabel to Princess Streets for several hours and the public was asked to avoid the area. Manitoba Hydro said about 390 customers were without power. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
