Winnipeg police arrest three suspects after teenage boy robbed and seriously injured

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged three suspects following a violent robbery that sent a teenage boy to hospital in unstable condition on Monday.

According to a media release, on November 9, at 12:39 a.m., police responded to the 800 block of Concordia Avenue after a passerby located a seriously injured 15-year-old male in a parking lot.

The teen was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Police said he had been robbed before being found.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and arrested three suspects – two known to the victim. It is believed that the suspects had arranged a meeting with the victim, at which time he was assaulted with a machete and robbed of his personal property including his clothing. The victim, unclothed, was left on the ground suffering from severe injuries until a passerby later found him.

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and disguise with intent.

He was detained in custody.

A 16-year-old female of Winnipeg, is facing charges of aggravated assault and robbery.

A 15-year-old female of Winnipeg, is facing charges of robbery.

The two were released on an undertaking.
