Winnipeg police identify victim of homicide on College Avenue

Winnipeg police have identified a man who was found dead at home in the city’s William Whyte area on Friday.

According to a media release, on November 27, at 4:26 a.m., police responded to a building in the 200 block of College Avenue for a report of an individual that had been found with serious injuries.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased man inside a residence. Police say his death is being treated as a homicide.

Police have identified the deceased victim as Kelvin Fredrick Sumner, 38, of Winnipeg.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.
