Winnipeg police investigate after man found injured at Ross Avenue home

Winnipeg police have two suspects in custody after a man was assaulted with a weapon at a home in the city’s Centennial neighbourhood early Monday.

According to a media release, shortly after 1:00 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Ross Avenue for the report of a male who had been assaulted.

Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable condition.

Soon after, another injured man was found at a residence in the 600 block of McGee Street. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated and released. Police say he was arrested, along with an adult female suspect.

George Day 19, has been charged with several firearms and weapons-related charges.

He was remanded into custody.

Brittany Day, 25, has been charged with assault and weapons-related charges.

She was released on an undertaking.
