Winnipeg police charge woman with second degree murder after man dies from assault

Winnipeg police have charged a woman in connection with the city’s latest homicide after a man was seriously assaulted and died.

According to a media release, on December 10th, at 9:40 p.m., general patrol officers responded to the report of a male who had been assaulted in the first 100 block of Gilbert Avenue.

Officers located a man with life-threatening injuries a short distance away in the 1600 block of Burrows Avenue, where they immediately began emergency CPR.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased victim has been identified as Delaney Lee Sinclair, 20-years-old.

Police say, Skyelyn Dawn Marie Ross, 22-years-old, was taken into custody Thursday night and charged Friday with second-degree murder.

Sinclair’s death is Winnipeg’s 41st homicide of the year.
