Winnipeg police have charged a suspect following the death of a man who was assaulted at an apartment building on College Avenue last month.
On November 27, at 4:26 a.m., police responded to a building in the 200 block of College Avenue for a report of an individual that had been found with serious injuries.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased man inside a residence.
The deceased victim was later identified by police as Kelvin Fredrick Sumner, 38, of Winnipeg.

Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation.
It is believed that the victim and a suspect were together in a suite during the daytime hours of November 26, when a dispute occurred and escalated to an assault. The suspect then fled the suite, and the victim was discovered deceased the next day.
Police say on December 14, a male suspect was placed under arrest.
Justin James Scott Gledhill, 26, of Winnipeg, has been charged with second-degree murder.
He was detained in custody.
