Second suspect wanted on Canada-wide warrant for death of Mohamed Ahmed

Winnipeg police are looking for a second suspect wanted in connection with the death of a 29-year-old man last year.

On October 12, 2020, officers responded to a report of a body that had been discovered in the Red River near Churchill Drive and Hay Street.

A deceased male was later identified as Mohamed Ahmed. His death was determined to be a homicide.

Police continued to investigate his murder.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Jesse James Daher, 28, of Winnipeg, for second-degree murder.

Daher is still outstanding.

He is described as white, 6’3” tall, weighs approximately 155 lbs, and has a thin build, with green eyes and is believed to have a shaved head or short brown hair.

On February 10, police named a second suspect, Evan Daniel Bill Brightnose-Baker, 21 of Winnipeg.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant for second-degree murder with issued for Brightnose-Baker.

He is described as Indigenous, 5’5” tall, weighs approximately 126 lbs and has a medium build, with brown eyes and is believed to have black hair.

Both men are considered to be armed and dangerous. The public is warned not to approach them.
