Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews performed a technical rescue near Main Street and Higgins Avenue on Saturday night after two men became trapped inside a support system for railway tracks.

At 7:42 p.m., the WFPS responded to reports of two people in need of assistance in a confined space under the tracks behind the Aboriginal Centre building on Higgins Avenue and Maple Street.

The WFPS Technical Rescue Team cut a hole in a fence and were able to locate the men.

Both of the men were brought to safety and paramedics assessed them on-scene.

No injuries were reported
