Winnipeg police investigate after human remains discovered near Stella Avenue and McGregor Street

Winnipeg police are investigating after human remains were discovered on Wednesday morning in the city’s Dufferin neighbourhood.

At 7:15 a.m., police responded to the area of Stella Avenue and McGregor Street for a report that possible human remains had been found.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the remains were that of a deceased person.

The age and identity of the deceased is unknown.

Police say a post-mortem examination will be performed.

Members of the homicide unit are taking over the investigation.

This is Winnipeg’s 4th homicide of the year.
