Woman arrested for fatal assault on Dufferin Avenue

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a woman in connection with the homicide of a 33-year-old man yesterday afternoon.

According to a media release, at around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the area of Main Street and Dufferin Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a seriously injured man.

 The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased victim has been identified as Adam Albert Laforrest of Winnipeg.

Police say a 38-year-old woman was placed under arrest at the scene.

Carla Bridgette Duck, of Winnipeg, has been charged with manslaughter.

She has been detained in custody.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.
