Winnipeg woman charged with manslaughter after fatal stabbing of 12-year-old boy

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old woman with manslaughter after a 12-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on Friday evening.

According to a media release, on June 18, at 7:19 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Burrows Avenue for a report of a male that had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found a boy on the road with serious injuries and were assisted by an off-duty nurse who had been in the area.

The boy was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified by family as Sanchez Boulanger.

Members of the Homicide Unit are continuing with the investigation.

Police say that two groups were involved in an altercation and the boy was stabbed.
