Two suspects charged in fatal attack on 52-year-old Winnipeg man

Winnipeg police have arrested and charged two suspects after a man was found badly beaten in the city’s West End on Saturday morning and later died in hospital.

According to a media release, on July 31, at approximately 4:00 a.m., two adult males began rummaging through a shopping cart that belonged to a 52-year-old man while in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street. The man who was nearby confronted the males and a verbal exchange occurred which escalated to a physical altercation. The man was repeatedly punched and kicked during the fight and ultimately rendered unconscious.

Several hours later, police were contacted and located the man with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The victim has been identified as, Peter Louis Bogaki, 52, of Winnipeg.

The investigation continued and two suspects were arrested and detained in custody. The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.

On August 2, Bogaki succumbed to his injuries while in hospital. Investigators attended to the Winnipeg Remand Centre and arrested the two suspects on the strength of warrants.

Isaac Nicholas Richard-Mckay 19, of Winnipeg, was charged with second-degree murder.

Kadin Seth Young, 22, of Winnipeg, was charged with manslaughter.

Both remain in custody.
